RooHee Ali Khan emerges from an illustrious lineage deeply rooted in the classical traditions of Indian music. She is the granddaughter of Padma Shri Sarangi Nawaz Ustad Shakoor Khan Sahib on her paternal side and Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan Sahib on her maternal side.
Her father, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan Sahib, is one of the most revered contemporary exponents of the legendary Kirana Gharana. Raised where music was not merely practiced but lived as a sacred way of life, she developed an innate sensitivity to rhythm, melody, and emotional nuance.
Though blessed with a naturally melodious voice, she chose painting as her primary medium — allowing her inner music to find form through visual language. In her artistic universe, the brush becomes a tanpura, the canvas transforms into a stage, and colour itself evolves into a living, expressive raga.
